So, we are off to the Pacific side with our good friends Tim and Meredith to see what this surfing lark is all about
All the small boards in the foreground are for good surfers – the huge ugly blue one is for us beginners – the aquatic version of training wheels…….
Most of surfing is spent sitting on your arse and……
…..underestimating the power of water. Although we did learn a few tricks such as……..
…..the “invisible surfer”
….the “360 degree face plant”
…the “Californian Rad”
and the popular, “pretend the water is really deep” manoeuvre which is a lot more convincing if your wife isn’t only knee deep in water
But despite drinking more seawater than Alain Bombard, we all survived to live another day and catch some phat air time, or somesuch twaddle. Massive thanks to the crew of “Luci” for acting as motivational and practical organisers. PS: Did you ever see a bunch with such great teeth outside of an Osmond’s gig?
